Heat to sponsor British Comedy Awards

Deal brokered by OMD FuseEmap celebrity gossip mag Heat is to sponsor of The British Comedy Awards on ITV1 and ITV2. The mag will be sponsoring the main awards ceremony on ITV1 on Wednesday 14 December as well as ITV2 extension programming around the main event show. In the weeks leading up to the ceremony, 'Countdown to the British Comedy Awards 200' on ITV2 will showcase the comedians who have been nominated for the top honours. Another spin-off programme, 'The Fun Goes On,' also on ITV2, will feature live coverage of the after-show party, together with interviews with the winners, losers and presenters The deal was negotiated by Cate Murden, associate director at OMD Fuse and the ITV Sales sponsorship and branded content team. Yan Li, sponsorship and branded content executive at ITV Sales, said: "This is a great opportunity for heat magazine to associate their brand alongside one of the biggest TV events of the year through ITV’s family of channels." Heat editor Mark Frith said: "TV events don't get much bigger than The British Comedy Awards and Heat are proud to be involved, especially as we're celebrating the unveiling of our own big event the same week - Heat's special Christmas double issue."
